JUNE 30, 2008...YOU'RE CRAWLING!!!

You started crawling today for Grandma. You've been trying for about a month now, but you couldn't quite get it. When I got home from work today Grandma said, "He's crawling!" And sure enough she put a toy on the floor and with a little bit of effort(you're still perfecting) you made it over to the toy. And not by rolling either...you were crawling. Woohoo! Oh and your sitting up almost all on your own now...you've been proping yourselve up on your arm for about 2 weeks now, but on Monday you pushed yourself up to your bottom....NO HANDS!!

I can't believe how quickly you are learning things now. You are so much fun. We love you more than you'll ever know.

June 28th....YOUR FIRST WORD!!

IT FINALLY HAPPEN....You said your 1st word today. Well it wasn't the whole word, but you said, "DA!". At first we weren't sure that's what you were saying, but now everytime daddy walks in or out of a room you say, "DA!". I'm not thrilled that your saying DA first....just kidding. You are such a little cutie!

PAPPY IS OFF TO TANZANIA...JUNE 15TH..

We had a going away party for pappy today. He left for Tanzania for 18 days. He kept saying how he doesn't know how he'll make it 18 days with out seeing your big smile. He took pictures with and last time we talked to him he said he looks at your picture every day. It's so cute when I drop you off with Grandma in the morning you are alway looking over our shoulders at the basement door just waiting for pappy to come through the door. Only 1 1/2 weeks till we go pick him up. He will be so happy to see you. Here's a pic of you and daddy at the going away picnic!

Mommy remembering the last 6 months...

I can still remember the day you were born. I remember how daddy fumbled around with the scrubs the gave him to put on and how he put his hat on his foot because he was so nervous and excited all at the same time. I remember how proud your daddy was when he saw you for the 1st time and how he was pacing around waiting for the nurses to clean you up so he could hold you. I remember the smile from ear to ear in the delivery room when they handed you to him for the 1st time. He walked over to me and put you down to my face so I could see, smell and touch your soft skin for the 1st time. It was the best day of our life. Your arrival was long awaited and so worth the wait. I remember how anxious we were to finally get out of the hospital and get home so we could start our life as a family together. When we got home the 1st night all the girls from the youth group brought us Pizza for dinner. We went to bed that night and I think I only slept an hour or two. I couldn't stop staring at you laying in your bassinet wondering how something so perfect could be in my life. I would wake up and you would be there still sleeping and I could hardly wait for you to wake up so I could hold you again. Daddy went back to work on Monday. I think that was the hardest thing he ever had to do. I remember wishing neither one of us would ever have to go back to work so that we could stay with you and not miss a single minute of you. When you were 6 weeks old we moved you to your crib. I would get up probably 20 times to make sure you were ok over there in your room all by yourself and than I would fall asleep from pure exhaustion. The exhaustion wasn't from you...you were always a good sleeper, but it was usually 12 or 1 till I could finally fall asleep. For the first couple weeks mommy would always take your morning nap with you. Than we would get up and start our day. When you were 12 weeks old mommy had to go back to work. February 25 was my 1st day back and luckily that day Daddy didn't have to go into work until late so it wasn't as hard for me to leave. You were sleeping though and mommy didn't get to say good-bye so I left that morning with tears in my eyes. I missed you so much that day, I could hardly wait for the day to be over. Gradually the days got easier...but the more you grow and do new things the harder it is for me to leave....but you love being with your Grandma and Grandpa. Every morning when I drop you off Grandma takes you down to Pappy in the office and you hang out with the boys, she calls it your "Guy Time"! Today when Grandma picked you up(She does that on Fridays because Mav & Goose go to Daycare) I was feeding you a bottle and when you seen your grandma you sat up and reached for her. What's up with that?! Just kidding. Mommy had a little bit of a hard time with that, but I am really happy that you love your grandma so much. Although you are a Pappy's Boy! Well now I'm rambling. I just wanted to tell you AGAIN how much your daddy and mommy love you. We thank God daily for the wonderful miracle he has given to us. You will always be the best gift we have ever received. You make us so happy and we have so much fun with you. All the new things that you do....daddy and mommy are so easily amused....but you are just such an amazing little person. Next week you will be 6 months old and these of been the best, most amazing 6 months of our lives. And we are looking forward to everyday for the rest of your life. Hugs and kisses and all that mooshie stuff. Love you Pumpkin.

Love Always and Forever,
Mommy
