Our 1st Little Trucker....Aiden Tyson!!!: December 2007

Well I guess it's about time I updated the blog....

Today is when you made your appearance! It was one of the most wonderful days of mine & daddy's life.

It all began yesterday morning about 9:30 am. I thought my water may have broke so I called the triage nurse about 7:00 am on Tuesday, November 27. She told me that she doesn't think my water broke, but I'd been having headaches the last 2 evenings & that made her worry a little bit...possible pre-eclampsia. She told me to call the Dr. when the office opened & make an appt. When the resident called me back she told me to just go to labor & delivery & have them check me out. I really had no idea that they were going to keep me. It was about 11:00 am until they finally checked me & told me that I should call daddy because they are keeping because we're going to have a BABY!

Before daddy even got there they had started me on the pitocin. Even though my water broke I wasn't having any contractions. Til daddy got there about 12:00 I had started feeling the contractions....but they weren't too bad. By 6:30 though I couldn't take it anymore & chickened out & got an epidural! At that point I was still only 3 cm dilated. Being that I started at 1 cm..I wasn't progressing very quickly but the really wanted me to go natural, so they just kept increasing my pitocin & they were hoping that would help. At 1:30 am mommy & daddy were both sleeping as best we could & I opened my eyes to the nurses & residents checking out the machine and they put me on oxygen, had me rolling from one side to the other....your heartrate had dropped. Once they had me on my right side though your heartrate came back up. So they took me off the pitocin for about & hour to give you rest, because my contractions were coming so close together. Although at this point I was still only 5 cm dilated. At about 3:00 they came back in and started the pitocin again. At 4:00 everyone came running in again because your heartrate dropped again, they checked me again & I was still only 6 cm dilated. This time they couldn't get it to stay regulated so Dr. Hall said they were going to do the c-section. They gave daddy all the operating room gear, daddy was so excited & nervous that he accidently put his hat on his boot, it didn't take him long though to realize that it belonged on his head ;-)....by 4:20 they had every thing ready to go...they brought daddy into the operating room...and at 4:47 am you were born! Dr. Hall said, "Ok daddy you can look!" Daddy got up and said, "it's a boy!"....it was the best moment of my life. Daddy was so excited & nervous, he took a bunch of pics & afterward he said to me...."I don't think I did a very good job, I was so nervous!" But I think he did a great job. He's the best daddy ever. He changed your first diaper & everything. We are so happy you are here. We love you more than we could have ever imagined. We thank God every day for you. You are truly a gift from God. You are our Perfect Angel!
